Now on to some updates... In the past couple of weeks we have traveled far, eaten loads and drank (drunk, drinked??) too much.
Starting with Michael:
March 19th...
For a little rest and relaxation Michael along with Jeff (brother in law) Hans (father) headed out to Revelstoke and met up with some more of the Thur clan to do some touring in the mountains of Rogers Pass. According to my husband, who came home with quite a few bumps and bruises (?) there was no drinking just some silent reading, board games and of course a whole lot of skiing. I believe only the latter and still have no idea why he looked like he got into a fight with a bear- but some things can be left unsaid. There were no pictures taken this time so the pictures are from a couple of years ago when I braved the trip and Southern Comfort became a dirty word.
Needless to say Michael just phoned me (minutes ago) complaining of a sore throat spouting, it must be 'cause I am still getting over "the trip". Three weeks ago- "the trip" was three weeks ago. Be better.
Please note- these taunts are a dire attempt at getting Michael to contribute to this blog and I am telling you, nothing works better than a few digs here and there. Before you know it this blog will be titled Sincerely, Mike.
Now back to me (see it's not alllll about me?!)...
March 26th
Kelly's stagette weekend!
Ok, so since Kelly will be reading this I can't resist mentioning that she was in bed (fully dressed, *cough* at her parents house) by 1030 on the night of her stag. Not a problem though, because when she was up, she was a blast.
It was a great weekend and in Kelly's defense she did host a bit of a "get together" Friday night which lasted until I don't even know what time- I just know that when I got home my Dad was up, dressed and shaking his head "nothing has changed" (direct quote). So Saturday was rough to begin with but she soldiered on...and decided to eat- nothing. Being the bride is rough, a lot of attention and really it's so easy to forget to get some food down. But, whatever! From the time the party started until the minute her Mom took her home (sorry Kelly, you can get me back), she was a great sport and it was a great day/weekend.
I actually was hungover for a week...but I at least admitted to some drinking- Michael, care to comment?
Ok...we are almost up to date! Hang in there...
Easter weekend! I happen to be a big believer/fan of the Easter Bunny. Hell, there are THOUSANDS of bunnies out there, why can't there be one that's a bit bigger than the rest who happens to carry some candy? Anyway the real reason that I am a firm believer in all gift bearing holiday spirits is that I was once told by a very wise Aunt that the minute you tell someone you stop believing- you stop getting the gifts that correspond with the holiday. I remember the exact time of this conversation. I was driving in her van with all of my younger cousins (how were we in seatbelts??) when I proudly announced that they were a bunch of idiots because they still believed in Santa ( I was an only child at the time, acting out was something my councilor told me was normal). My Aunt smoothly pulled the car off of the highway as seven of the ten kids were trying to start a riot and firmly told me that I would never see a gift again if I didn't promptly start believing again. I never forgot it, and I have NEVER told such lies again. I believe. And I believe in them all.
What was I talking about? Ohh right that big ol' bunny. So this Easter was really special because now Jayden (my fabulous nephew, see pictures) is of an age where he knows something fun is happening. So, Nana and Papa were prepared. We arrived to a house full of hidden chocolate eggs, turkey dinner in the oven and bright packages on the dinner table! * Now, I think would be a good time for a little editors note; no I do not only care about getting gifts, but anyone who claims they don't get excited when they see a wrapped package with their name on it is lying and you can now please unsubscribe to my page you little fibber. I digress, the dinner was great fun, Heather (my sister in law) was sick but she hung in there and Krista (my other sister in law) brought her boyfriend Chris for his first Thur family feast. He then needed a holiday so the next day they set off to Mexico.
Saturday morning, bright and early, Michael and I headed out to Half Moon Bay. Within minutes of arriving Michael, Kevin and Rayce were off, clubs in hand to the golf course. What were the girls to do? Shop. And that we did. Leave it to my Mom to find a place to buy anything in a town of any size. We met the guys at the clubhouse for our version of Easter dinner and then went home for a rousing game of Taboo.

The next day, Michael and I traveled home and now it's today. I'm on my lunch at work...I am Mom. And I am sure you are all happy to know that this entry #2 is now OVER.
Pictures that were mentioned above, to come.
Sincerely,
